Our History
AMPLIFY Girls was imagined through a thought partnership by Komera and the Antelope Foundation about the importance of localized development and the urgent need to drive resources and power to community-driven organizations.
In January of 2018, Komera and Antelope convened 18 diverse CDOs – who implement a multitude of programmatic approaches to drive change in their communities. Although diverse in nature, they all shared a common purpose – to improve outcomes for adolescent girls. These organizations discussed the importance of community-driven planning and how working collaboratively could upend development narratives and provide an alternative to traditional scale. Our collective work culminated in the founding of AMPLIFY Girls.
Our mission is to amplify the voices, work and impact of community-driven organizations committed to building girls' agency.
We do this by supporting the growth of organizations through intentional collaboration and learning; advocating for the inclusion of community-driven organizations in global decision-making spaces; and developing cutting-edge research that enables us to understand, measure, and maximize girls’ agency.
Our Community
AMPLIFY Girls is a trust-based collective committed to collaborating to shift global resources to community-driven development. Our partners drive AMPLIFY Girls’ agenda through intentional collaboration and collective decision-making. All stakeholders contribute to the continued evolution of AMPLIFY Girls and benefit from the work we do collectively.

Our Partners work collectively with the Governing Board and AMPLIFY Girls Team to develop strategy and form collaborations between organizations that enhance opportunities for adolescent girls.
AMPLIFY Girls Team executes the day-to-day work of the organisation and is comprised of a dynamic, amazing group of brilliant women with vast experience.
Our Board is elected by our Partners and works closely to support the AMPLIFY Girls Team in executing our collaborative agenda.
Our funders are our allies – and make our work possible – but they also work with us to co-create our vision and strategy. We value their input and partnership.
We are committed to working within public systems. We recognize that collaboration between community organizations and their governments is imperative for change and advancing the agenda of adolescent girls.
