AMPLIFY Girls at the Women Deliver Conference: Here’s What We Were Up to

This month is buzzing with excitement at AMPLIFY Girls as our team gears up to attend the Women Deliver Conference 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda. We can't wait to share the inspiring experiences and insights from the event. We have two content pieces for you: one highlighting our efforts to provide vital resources to local NGOs, which are transforming the lives of thousands of girls, and the other discussing ways in which we can collectively support girls.

AMPLIFY Girls’ Sessions

From the 16th to the 20th of July at the Women Deliver Conference, the AMPLIFY Girls team will actively participate in various panel conversations. We shall also have an open booth at the education exhibition where you can visit us to learn more about our work and have the chance to receive AMPLIFY Girls' goodies.

AMPLIFY Girls at the Girl Deliver Pre-Conference on Adolescent Girls

AMPLIFY Girls is proud to be the co-host of the Adolescent Girls pre-conference (Girl Deliver) on July 16th at Lemigo Hotel, Kigali. At the conference, AMPLIFY Girls is co-hosting a round table with a focus on girls' agency. Together with our partners and panelists, we will take participants through a process of self-actualization on what agency is in break-out sessions.

Will you be attending the conference? Join us at our round table from 12:15 to 13:30 pm Rwanda time. Find the Girls Deliver Program here.

Co-hosting with Adolescent Girls Investment Plan (AGIP)

As a Member of AGIP, AMPLIFY Girls will be co-hosting two concurrent sessions on Resourcing Adolescent Girls on the 18th of July and Advancing Accountability for Adolescent Girls on the 19th at the Women Deliver Conference:

Where’s the Money? Funding Adolescent Girls and Young Women

In the first event, AMPLIFY Girls will be represented by Jocelyne Izere from our partner organization, Impanuro Girls Initiative, who will be speaking about Resourcing for Adolescent Girls highlighting what needs to shift to make funding more accessible for adolescent girls and girl-led initiatives.

The purpose of the event is to bring together diverse stakeholders, including adolescent girls, to workshop how resources can be shifted directly to adolescent girls and young feminist-led organizations.

No More Excuses! Accountability Mechanisms for Girls and Young Women

This is a concurrent event co-hosted by AGIP and AMREF Health Africa and co-developed by AGIP members. The session will promote and share accountability tools and mechanisms that work for adolescent girls and gather renewed commitment to advance sustainable accountability for adolescent girls.

Exploration of Life Skills Education within traditional education structures and community-based Interventions

On the 19th of July, AMPLIFY Girls will co-host a dialogue on the Exploration of Life Skills Education within traditional education structures and community-based Interventions with our GAL partner CAMFED, at the Women Deliver conference.

Governments across Eastern Africa recognize the value and importance of life skills education. The reality of life skills education for adolescent girls calls for additional attention in schools and in community-based interventions. Together with our panel, we will explore the challenges and benefits of integrating life-skills programming within existing pedagogy and the role of civil society and governments in supporting powerful outcomes for adolescent girls.
